Costa Rica
One of the world’s most accessible birding destinations—with big diversity packed into a small footprint.
Costa Rica is home to over 930 bird species, including regional endemics, colorful tanagers, and iconic species like Resplendent Quetzal, Keel-billed Toucan, and Scarlet Macaw.
With excellent lodges, short travel distances, and high bird density, it’s an ideal destination for first-time Neotropical birders and seasoned travelers alike.
We’ve operated tours here since the beginning, and it remains our base of operations—home turf we know in depth, season by season, trail by trail. Whether your focus is life-list building, family-friendly nature, or targeted conservation efforts, Costa Rica delivers—often with easier logistics, greater species density, and a guiding infrastructure that makes everything flow smoothly. For many travelers, it’s not just their first Neotropical destination—it becomes their favorite!

Costa Rica is the only country where we operate all six of our tour styles.
From open-enrollment trips to fully private adventures and conservation-focused partnerships, the options are wide open.
Let us know what interests you most, and we’ll help match you with the right fit.

Ecuador
A megadiverse hotspot in a compact, easy-to-navigate country.
Ecuador boasts over 1,600 bird species across a staggering range of habitats—from Chocó rainforest to Andean páramo and Amazonian lowlands. Its well-developed lodge network and short travel distances make it possible to sample multiple bioregions in a single itinerary without sacrificing field time.
From antpittas and hummingbird feeders to canopy towers and Amazon oxbow lakes, Ecuador offers immersive, close-range experiences that appeal to both listers and general naturalists. Our itineraries focus on key regions and conservation-linked reserves.

Colombia
The richest bird country on Earth—with landscapes as varied as its species list.
Colombia hosts nearly 2,000 bird species, including a long list of endemics and regional specialties found nowhere else. Its diversity comes from its extreme geography: three Andean cordilleras, both Pacific and Caribbean coasts, Amazonian lowlands, and isolated mountain ranges like the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Our itineraries are built to balance high species counts with comfortable travel, emphasizing well-run reserves and local conservation partners. We focus on the Central and Western Andes, where access and infrastructure support safe, rewarding birding.

Panama
A biological crossroads of the Americas—where northern and southern birdlife converge.
Panama offers over 1,000 bird species within a compact, accessible landscape. Its position at the narrowest point of Central America means you can explore Pacific and Caribbean slopes, lowland rainforests, and cloud forests in a single itinerary. From the famed Pipeline Road to the Chiriquí Highlands, our tours focus on high-yield birding with strong logistics.
We work with local conservation partners and experienced guides to connect birders with both well-known hotspots and lesser-known regional specialties.

Guatemala
A highland stronghold for endemics, culture, and community-based conservation.
Guatemala’s pine-oak forests, volcanic slopes, and cloud forests are home to iconic species like the Pink-headed Warbler, Horned Guan, and Belted Flycatcher. Though smaller in bird list than its neighbors, the country offers rewarding birding in less-explored terrain.
Our itineraries emphasize endemic-rich highlands and locally managed reserves, combining avian diversity with meaningful engagement in Indigenous and rural conservation efforts.
