Costa Rica Birding & Photo Tour: From Caribbean Lowlands to Highland Forests

Designed for Birders and Nature Photographers, this 10-night birding and photography tour explores a range of Costa Rica’s most rewarding habitats, from lowland rainforests in Sarapiquí to the oak forests of San Gerardo de Dota and the foothills of Turrialba. Designed for a slower pace and close-range observation, the itinerary includes private reserves, garden feeders, and well-known field sites like La Selva Biological Station, Cope’s feeders, La Marta Refuge, and Batsu Gardens.

Target species include Resplendent Quetzal, Snowcap, Emerald Toucanet, Black-crested Coquette, and a variety of manakins, tanagers, and hummingbirds. The route supports both focused birding and unhurried photography sessions in natural light and forest edge conditions. Group size is limited to ensure an efficient, field-first experience with expert local guidance.
